Lucas Griswold started work with the King’s Chapel Freedom Trail Program in 2008, the spring after his Freshman year at Boston University. After completing coursework for his BA in Archaeology in 2011, Lucas became interim Assistant Parish Administrator, working at the Parish House in this capacity while preparing to leave Boston for a career in Archaeology. Starting in the spring of 2012, he began a two-year stint working excavations in places as varied as rural Iowa and urban Ireland.

This winter, Lucas traded the charms of archaeological field work for the pursuit of a new career in Public History here in Boston. Returning to the King’s Chapel Freedom Program in January, he has been working to expand and reform the educational programs available at the Church both to members of the congregation and the visiting public. This June, he was honored to receive a promotion to the position of Assistant Head Guide for Programming Development. Among other new offerings, he hopes to develop a seasonal lecture series and new costumed interpretive presentations. Outside of King’s, Lucas enjoys his sewing machine, woodsy hikes, acting, and archaeological volunteering.
